The best Easter wishes are short, warm and easy to read aloud, so reach for a line that suits the person: a simple "Happy Easter, wishing you a day full of joy and chocolate" for almost anyone, a blessing such as "He is risen, may His love surround you this Easter" for the faithful, or a pun like "Hoppy Easter, you're one of my favourite peeps" for someone who loves a giggle. Below you will find ready-to-copy messages sorted into short, religious, funny, family and friends, and card-ready groups, gathered from popular UK greeting guides so you can pick one and send it in seconds. Easter Sunday falls on 5 April in 2026, so there is no rush, but a kind word always lands best when it arrives early.
Whether you are writing a stack of cards at the kitchen table or tapping out a quick message before the egg hunt, the trick is to match the tone to the reader. Keep scrolling for genuine wishes you can use word for word, plus a few tips on making each one feel personal.
Short Easter wishes (perfect for a text or a card)
Sometimes the shortest message is the warmest. These brief lines work just as well as a text, an Instagram caption, or the inside of a card when you are short on space.

Before the garden egg hunt warms everyone up, the early start can be nippy. A soft hooded HappyHoodie keeps little ones snug while they wait for the Easter Bunny, and it doubles as their go-to for film nights long after the holiday.

If you would like to add a verse, a short, familiar line works beautifully on a card. The well-loved Easter declaration that the Church of England marks as the heart of the day, "He is risen," is a popular choice that needs no introduction.
An Easter morning spent hunting eggs in the garden is even cosier when everyone is dressed alike, and matching loungewear the whole family can wear turns the photos into a keepsake long after the chocolate is gone.

Famous Easter quotes to borrow
If you would rather lean on someone else's words, a short quote adds a touch of elegance to any card. Each of these is widely shared and properly attributed.
"The great gift of Easter is hope." – Cardinal Basil Hume
"Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life." – S.D. Gordon
"The very first Easter taught us this: that life never ends and love never dies." – Kate McGahan
"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." – Martin Luther King Jr.
"May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door." – Irish Blessing
How to make any Easter wish feel personal
Pick a line from above, then add one sentence that only you could write. Name a shared memory, mention something you are grateful for, or note a small plan to meet up soon. A handwritten message beats a printed one every time, even if your handwriting is far from perfect, because the effort is the gift.
For a finishing touch, tuck the card in with something they will actually use. A cosy set of Easter pyjamas or a soft all-day onesie makes the message land twice: once when they read it, and again every chilly evening afterwards. For the grown-ups, our range of women's pyjamas covers everything from playful prints to calm pastels.
However you say it, the words that matter most are the ones that sound like you. Choose a wish, make it yours, and send it with a little spring in your step. Happy Easter for 2026.
